Yesterday was my final wedding of the year and it was a wonderful, intimate family wedding at the Downcliffe Hotel in Filey. Shaun and Lucy wanted to keep the wedding very relaxed and with close family and friends. Although they live in Barnsley Shaun and Lucy fell in love with The Downcliffe when they went there on a short weekend break a couple of years ago. It is a stunning boutique hotel right on the sea front and it didn’t take me long to realise why they had chosen this as the place where they wanted to get married. Over the last 2 years they have gone back many times and developed a great friendship with Darren & Lizzi who own the hotel. Darren & Lizzie have made it a beautiful hotel where the attention to detail is second to none, everything was even colour co-ordinated with the bridesmaid dresses and accessories! As a result the wedding day felt like a small family occasion in a friends’ home. Shaun and Lucy both looked stunning and were so happy. It was lovely to be there to see them get married in front of their 28 guests. It was a really special day and made to feel even more wintery with the snow showers which came and went all day. Lucy was really keen to get photos outside on the sea front so we got everyone out in the -1 degree weather for some great shots. If the tide hadn’t come in we would have got down on the beach in our wellies too! As I left the Filey Shaun, Lucy and their family were sitting down to an amazing meal and a very relaxed evening. They looked so happy and I wish them all the best as they start their married life together. Here are a few photos from their special day.
