I have suddenly realised that I’ve not published the photos from the 2nd part of our “Trash the Dress” day. We had so much doing the shoot that I couldn’t go without sharing some of the photos with you.
After doing the shoot in the morning with Laura from Little White Book (Wedding Planner) we decided to change tack and go for a different location with 2 new models. We managed to find an amazing location in Sheffield which really complimented the glamour and vibrant colours of our “paint the dress” shoot. We started the afternoon with a few “rock the dress” shots and then got out the paint and asked Sophie (Sophie Mei) and Katy (KTmakeup) to throw paint at each other. After the initial…”really? You’re OK with us throwing paint over these dresses” they went for it and we got some brilliant shots. Both Katy and Sophie have done a number of model shoots but I think this was by far the messiest and most unusual!
There is an increasing interest in the Rock/Trash/Paint the Dress photo shoots here in the UK. The idea has come over from the USA and I think is a great one. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the bride and groom to wear their wedding outfits again (before they go to be dry cleaned). The shoot can be in a completely different or unusual location to where you wouldn’t normally expect to see a bride and groom. It can go from the glamorous shoot of “rocking” the dress in a high end fashion style shoot to “trashing” or “painting” the dress. It all depends on how adventurous the couple are feeling but all shoots are fun and will result in some fantastic photos which can be kept as wonderful memories. This is something I would love to start offering to my couples as it gives us an opportunity to take those wonderful shots that maybe we weren’t able to take on the day due to time or location.
