Happy Mother’s Day

It’s Sunday 14th March and Mother’s Day here in the UK. In the last 2 years I have photographed some wonderful families and I wanted to celebrate Shutterbugs and their mums so I thought I would write a blog and show you some of the wonderful mums I have had the privilege of meeting. When I do a Shutterbug or family shoot I go to their homes or their favourite park or location. This means that the whole family are really relaxed and we have a lot of fun capturing some really special memories.

This 1st photo is of my first Shutterbug and her lovely mummy Katherine. This was taken just over 18 months ago and baby Erin is now a very gorgeous toddler.

Another of my first ever Shutterbugs was with a family who have become lovely friends. Simon is a member of the same BNI chapter as me so when he had his first baby with his gorgeous wife Carmelina it was a real privilege to photograph their little one.

My friend Claire is expecting her 2nd baby in a few weeks but this is a photo of her first little one who will be 2 later this year.

4th sitting with one of my Shutterbugs

I have been taking photos of this little one since he was a “bump”. I was recommended to his mum and dad by another of my Shutterbug families who are also having my “Bump to 1st Year” package. They had met through anti natal classes so the babies are the same age and it is great to be photographing them at similar stages throughout the year.

This little one is quite a thinker and his expressions are priceless. We were worried we were getting many smiles as he was quite happily sitting there watching what was going on but I’m really pleased that I got some great shots of his cheeky smile.

I love my little Shutterbugs at this age as you can really see their personalities coming through. It’s also such a priviledge to be part of such an important year in the family’s life and to be asked to be part of it. I get to know the families and love every minute.

A Shutterbug Christmas

A final Shutterbug portrait shoot with one of my smiliest little Shutterbugs. I was greeted with beaming smiles as I walked through the door but unforuntately because he was teething they didn’t last too long. Amazingly, even though this little Shutterbug was struggling with teeth coming through, he was still able to give me a few giggles and play with the Christmas decorations.

I want to wish all my Shutterbug babies and their families a wonderful 1st Christmas together and look forward to taking lots more photos in 2010.
